Guild Coffee Morning
A great big thank you to all who supported this event - our own congregation and the wider community. A very happy and extremely busy morning, raising approx £1,000 thus far - a super effort, which is very much appreciated by St Ninian's Guild.

Day of Prayer for Global Poverty
It was good to be able to be in the Prayer Room at St. Ninian's for the Day of Prayer for Global Poverty. On reading the Prayer Requests posted around the room it was humbling to read of the problems which others face throughout the world.

Visit of the Moderator
It was great to have the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, the Rt Rev. William C. Hewitt, to lead us in worship on 18th October to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of St. Ninian's.
The message whi ch he brought to us will be remembered for a long time to come. It was also good to have aformer minister Rev Tom McGill in the congregation with us.
Three of our elders, John Cockburn, Tom McKail and Ian Paterson were presented with
Long Service Certificate marking more than 30 years service for each of them.A family lunch was served and we had an opportunity to meet the Moderator and Mrs Hewitt.
Altogether this was a memorable day in thenlife of St. Ninian's and we are grateful to Mr Kennedy for inviting the Moderator to be
with us.

125th Anniversary Celebration
On Sunday 18th October we were privileged to have Right Rev Bill Hewitt, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland lead our service of worship. The service celebated 125 years of the congregation of St Ninian's Parish Church, Stranraer. The service was very well attended by our own congregation; members of our linked church of Portpatrick also being present in good number, together with friends and visitors from other congregations.
Rev Gordon Kennedy welcomed everyone and after the opening praise, he invted the Moderator to present Long Service Certificates to three elders with over thirty years service - John Cockburn, Tom McKail and Ian Paterson. The Rev Oliver Ogilvy, who is a very welcome regular visitor at our services of worship was also presented to the Moderator. At the end of September it was 50 years since Rev Ogilvy's ordination.
It was a really blessed day with a warm and meaningful message from the Moderator.
At the end of the service an anniversary cake was cut by Mr Alex Murdoch, assisted by Hallie McClintock and a crystal block commemorating our 125th anniversary was presented to the Moderator, with a floral arrangement for Mrs Hewitt.
Over 100 people enjoyed a buffet lunch before a special event, with a real sense of God's presence, came to and end.
