GUILD COFFEE MORNINGDaffodil TeaPray for Schools DayVisit of the Moderator of the General AssemblyGuild - 19 OctoberIndex Faith Missionby Sheila Lowrie - 12:38 on 29 September 2009The Stranraer Convention of the Faith Mission once again took place in St Ninian's Church Hall over the weekend 18-20th September 2009. St Ninian's Church has given the Faith Mission use of the premises over many years and once again there were good attendances on the Friday and Saturday evenings. The Sunday evening saw fewer people, probably due to other services taking place in Stranraer and the surrounding area. It was a privilege to hear the Word of God brought to us by the Speaker for the Convention, Rev Clive Tutty of the Church of the Nazarene, Uddingston on each of the evenings. In addition to the main speaker, we were given updates on the Faith Mission's work in Wales from Paul Crowe. Paul Crowe was at one time in this local area and it was good to hear encouraging news from Paul of the Lords work in Wales. Likewise, Gordon Bingham brought news of the work being undertaken by himself and his wife Helen, in Cumbria. The news of their involvement in schools was particularly heartening, and it was pleasing to know Gordon and Helen are involved in Bible Studies and Gordon is also undertaking pulpit supply. As part of the 125th Anniversary Celebrations of Stranraer St Ninian's, William Harrison of the Faith Mission led our worship on Sunday 20th September. William is no stranger to a good number of the congregation and Rev Kennedy gave William an opportunity to speak of the work taking place in this area, which showed positive signs from summer camps at their base of High Barbuchany, Newton Stewart. Over 70 children and teenages had attended the camps and at this time Carolyn Harrison was being allowed to visit 3 primary schools in the Newton Stewart area - Kirkcowan, Minnigaff and Penninghame for lunch time clubs, which was indeed welcome news. The work of the Faith Mission, like all the works undertaken by so many in Gods name needs your continued prayer.
